- Strong Java development skills are essential, 5+ years experience is expected.- Have strong Database & Perl scripting experience.- Background in working in Unix/Linux environments, comfortable with writing shell scripts.- A proven track record of leading a team through the complete software development life cycle.- Preferable to have real-time messaging system experience, as well as development of multi-threaded applications.- Technical documentation skills will also be required.- Experience with testing automation will be preferable.- Exposure to C# for GUI development will be beneficial.- Have a logical approach to solving problems consisting of large amounts of raw data.- Have a strong interest in technology and be passionate about providing robust, scalable, high-performance solutions.- Be a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.- Desirable to have experience in cash equities development environment.- Minimum 5 years of Financial IT and the related experience.English – Business LevelJapanese – Daily Conversation Level

Position Summary:
One of our banking clients is seeking a Senior Developer within their Equities IT team to further develop and replace the current in-house regional sales trading system that will need to process high volumes of market data and order data in real time. This translates into a role with an exciting opportunity to exercise design and development skills while working closely with business analysts, developers, and the business users to transform the way sales traders use technology.
Responsibilities:
- Design, development and maintenance of a new in-house sales trading application.
- Work closely with the project manager and business analyst to design a system that not only implements the business requirements.
- Capable of handling with grace the large amounts of market data, order data, and other data feeds.
- Involve hands-on development to deliver regional solutions in a fast-paced business environment while maintaining a clean technical architecture that is ‘future proof’, capable of a shelf life of 5+ years.
- As the candidate will be the senior developer on a small team, they will be expected to mentor and transfer best programming practices to junior developers, provide thorough technical documentation, assist in supporting production systems.
- Work with quality assurance teams to assist in testing automation, and identify and resolve bugs.
