Job Description
Our customer, a Global management consulting firm is looking for a talented individual for a Desktop Engineer to deliver in-house level 1.5 technical support and asset management.
The successful applicant will be based in the Tokyo office and provide desk-side IT support (hardware, software telephony) support for a highly mobile management consultant workforce. The candidate will work closely with end users, office administrative staff, local and remote IT department peers and partner vendors, so strong communication skills are important. This position reports to the Regional IT Manager with day to day supervision coming from the Tokyo Technical Analyst Team Lead.
The Technical Analyst (TA) is responsible for responding to and resolving end-user support and problem related requests. In addition, the TA will occasionally support local and regional projects such as office relocations, network and physical infrastructure upgrades. TAs will also help with local problem resolution for any outages of onsite infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Provide desk side support for onsite users and remote assistance via telephone and remote desktop tools.
* Escalate difficult cases to internal technical support functions, external Telco / ISP / equipment vendors, etc.
* Manage end user computing assets. Coordinate new IT asset purchasing and old IT asset disposal. Update asset status in equipment tracking database.
* Manage external service and procurement vendors.
* Log record of support activities in company troubleshooting ticketing system.
* Ensure the 24x7 availability of business critical systems and applications.
